Oklahoma City to Santa Fe

Welcome Center
Today's theme was Route 66. Before leaving Yonkers,  I had just completed Steinbeck's THE GRAPES OF WRATH. It wasn't until we got to this area that I realized what an appropriate book that was. We have been basically following their route on this trip. However, we are riding in style compared to the Okies' oddysey. The lead photo above is from  a welcome center in Missouri. Today, we visited the museum in Oklahoma as well as having lunch in the midpoint cafe which is exactly half way between the origin in Chicago and the terminus in Santa Monica. And of course I needed a t-shirt and a rte 66 license plate and post cards.
