Fairmont to Indianopolis

West Jefferson, Ohio

Not a Fast food place. We got tired of I 70 and decided to take the old road -US40 for a while which runs parallel. And then we got hungry. West Jefferson is one of those little towns that you would miss in the blink of an eye. It wasn't Danny Meyer's shake shack but it was OK middle America lunch.

Richmond, Indiana
So what else is on US 40 in the middle of nowhere just after you pass into Indiana? We had to stop at the hallowed ground which is the home of Earlham College, a little known but excellent Quaker institution of higher learning. And why did we stop here? Because our good friends Matthew Marsh and John Feree are proud graduates!

Another Reward
We made it to Indianapolis, which is halfway to St. Louis - 396 miles. Of course we had to eat dinner. The Rathskellar was a fun german restaurant in the basement of an old German community center. Very good choice of German draft beers, wurst, rouladen and smoked pork chops. We did not leave hungry.
