| A large hood ornament but I think I can tie it on |
We had a few problems picking up the car at our local Hertz counter at the Royal Regency Hotel around the corner on Tuckahoe Road. When we got there, nobody was around so I had to call Hertz. Then the computer was down (apparently it is always down since it was in the same shape last week when I went over to make sure there really was a Hertz location 5 minutes from here). My AMEX card was then refused which is exactly what happened when I tried to use it at Hertz in Burbank last month. That was my fault which I later found out, but I managed to stay calm the whole time. So we are finally home and checking to see how Samuel's Windsor stool looks as a hood ornament. We are down to our last bit of food which Marion is always very proud of although I am not sure how I will feel tomorrow since there are still about 15 peaches and 30 apples in the fridge. Actually I think Marion is making apple sauce as we speak and I am about to order a pizza at Gino's.
This is actually a test to see if I can actually do this blog thing on Marion's Macbook and I guess I can.
If I have made any really big booboos, please let me know since I would like to get the kinks out before we leave tomorrow morning.
The only boo boo I see, Alan, is the misspelling of the word "boo boo". If you two come near Chicago, I hope you will stay with Kristin and me. That's a handsome chair, by the way, which looks way to big for Samuel. Regards, Brian Ziv
ReplyDeleteCongrats on staying cool, calm, and collected at that Hertz counter! The chair is gorgeous! Such an elegant curve to the back and such beautifully tapered spindles. Samuel is one lucky dude. Hoping the Windsor and the two of you have a great journey.
ReplyDeleteI think Jack Kerouac had the same trouble with Hertz ... vaya con dios, amigos!
ReplyDeleteBonjour, The Windsor chair is for "royals blood" I am sure Samuel is going to feel very privileged in it ! I love the color. Thanks for charring your trip with us. Bon voyage ! Babeth
ReplyDeleteSafe travels! I look forward to following your adventures and fun. Alan, nice job setting up the blog. It looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteIf you're in SF long enough for us to visit again, give me a call. Hmmm. Are you taking this chair to LA or SF?
ReplyDeleteAlan,
ReplyDeleteWonderful piece of craftmanship. I hope you enjoy your trip. Are both of you now retired? Ralph and I visited last night (Sept. 13,2010) in Atlantic City and wondered what you were up to. Bob Johnson
